Discussion: “Digitalization in Higher Education: International Trends and Domestic (Belarusian) Challenges”

The European Humanities University, in collaboration with several European embassies, is launching a series of discussions under the overarching theme “Topical Challenges and New Trends in Higher Education: Towards Education Reform in Belarus”

These discussions will convene experts and scholars from Belarus and various European countries. The initiative aims to address key challenges and trends in higher education, both regionally and globally, with a focus on the necessity for education system reform in Belarus.

The meetings will occur monthly, with each session featuring two presentations (each lasting 10-15 minutes) followed by a moderated discussion.

Recordings of the presentations and discussions will be disseminated through EHU channels for broader coverage. Each meeting is expected to yield pertinent recommendations for higher education reform in Belarus.

The inaugural discussion, organized by EHU in partnership with the Estonian Embassy in Lithuania, will focus on the theme “Digitalization in Higher Education: International Trends and Domestic (Belarusian) Challenges.”

Speakers:

Dr. Marianna Sokolova – an expert in education reform and policy development, author of a number of studies on the development of digital skills and online education in Belarus

Erik Sootla – Distance learning HUB project manager, EHU 

Moderator: Prof. Tatiana Shchyttsova, EHU

The meeting is scheduled for April 3rd, from 16:00 to 17:30.
